Maderos Cabernet Franc
At our Finca Sacramento, we carry out vineyard work always in search of
excellence: pruning, budding, cluster thinning, and leaf stripping. Conceived and
crafted in our facilities that showcase the most modern aspects of the industry
alongside the greatest historical heritage of Uruguayan viticulture.
This captivating variety, for many years overshadowed by the fame of Cabernet
Sauvignon, is now beginning to explode with all its potential. Crafted in Italian tulips
that allow for micro-oxygenation throughout the fermentation process and
accelerate the maturation of this great wine.
Intense red color with violet tints. On the nose, it presents aromas of red fruits and
spices such as sweet bell pepper, eucalyptus, cassis, and the subtlety of oak. In
the mouth, it presents soft tannins, sensations of spices, it is fruity, made complex
with the right presence of oak, filling the mouth with pleasant sensations. A
different wine with great aging potential.
Winemaking:
Selection of clusters, pressing, cooling, vatting, and fermentation in tulips at
controlled temperatures with native yeasts from our vineyards.
Once the alcoholic fermentation is finished and prior to the malolactic, the wines
rest in new French oak barrels, where we control the natural malolactic
fermentation and are aged there for 12 months.
After this time, the final blend is made, it is very gently filtered, bottled, and aged in
stacks for 12 more months.
Food Pairing Suggestions:
All types of meats—roasted, oven-baked, stewed. It is also an ideal companion for hard cheeses.
