Lahusen Gewürztraminer
Grapes from our Finca Sacramento, with a sandy-clay soil composition, amidst the
bedrock of the hills of San Juan. An Italo-German varietal with very few hectares
planted in Uruguay.
A variety with pink fruits but crafted to yield a white wine with some golden tones.
Very aromatic, floral, and with an oily texture. In the mouth, it has a slightly sweet
entry, fresh and delicate, with a significant structure for white wines and a delicious
varietal expression.
Winemaking:
Traditional, hand-harvested in mid-February. Selection of clusters, destemming,
cooling, and with a short maceration in a pneumatic press.
Alcoholic fermentation at temperatures not exceeding 15°C, induced with selected
yeasts until reaching minimum residual sugar in Italian amphorae. Fermentation
with micro-oxygenation that provides complexity and longevity.
Food Pairing Suggestions:
Salmon, sushi, breaded shrimp, mild cheeses, and also as an appetizer.
