CUNA DE PIEDRA - ESTATE
Cuna de Piedra is one of the first wine brands in Uruguay that was and is synonymous with hierarchy and national tradition.
With this line we expand our emblematic brand, with a fresher, younger and fruitier wine, with the same quality as the traditional Reserve line, which has been in the Uruguayan market for decades.
CUNA DE PIEDRA - RESERVE
Cuna de Piedra (stone cradle) is a line of highly expressive wines. The name evokes the characteristics of the vineyard and the building where the wine is born.
These grapes are grown in rocky soils on the slopes of los cerros de San Juan. The whole winery - cellar and aging room- were built underground, in the second half of the 19th century. Thick below-ground stone walls offer the ideal temperature and humidity levels for cellaring.
LAHUSEN
Lahusen is a line of wines created as a tribute to the founding Family of Los Cerros de San Juan, coming from the Old World. In honor to their German origin, the wines are made with typical exotic and different varieties from Germany that grow by the Rhine Basin. Wines of traditional, exotic and exciting grape varieties.
MADEROS
Maderos is a Gran Reserva oak line, which confirms the concept of “quality that comes from history”. The barrels and casks melt into remarkable flavors that embrace our wines.
These wines are made with grapes that grow in rocky soils on the lots with lower yield and higher quality.
The wines are aged in American and European oak barrels for 18 months, in the old stone cellar built in the second half of the 19th century. After bottling, the wine remains for 12 months in the bottle in thick-walled cellar, sheltered from the noise, humidity, light and temperature of our historic cellar.
PENTAVARIETAL
To make this wine, we chose the most outstanding wine-stock from the latest harvests we had in reserve, regardless of the vintage, and blended it to give birth to an exceptional wine. With this concept we designed this unique blend that can mix varieties and vintages with the sole objective of excellence.
Each varietal aged in new French oak barrels for a minimum of 12 months. We made the blend in June 2020 and until June 2021 the wine continued its evolution in bottle in our conditioned thick-walled cellar under controlled temperatures.
