In 1854, the Lahusen family, originally from Germany and with a long-standing agricultural and viticultural tradition, acquired four estates located between the San Juan and R\u00edo de La Plata rivers,. This marked the beginning of the Rural Company Los Cerros de San Juan and Cochic\u00f3.<\/p>

Their choice of place reflected deep expertise: the ancient bed of the San Juan River, covered in gravel and pebbles, resembled the terroir of Bordeaux\u2014an ideal setting for planting vines from the Old World.<\/p>

In 1872, oak barrels from France arrived and were stored in a newly built stone winery, where our wines still rest to this day.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The entire infrastructure of our winery and complementary services for wine production form a unique agro-industrial architectural complex: our Stone Winery, the old general store, the carpentry, and the blacksmith workshop (mostly built in the second half of the 19th century) showcase stone buildings with thick colonial-style walls typical of Colonia.
